We want to help make your first experience at First Baptist a great one.

ARE YOU IN NEED OF PRAYER?

I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of Heaven and Earth. PSALM 121:1-2

We are a shared human race. We are a people of hoping. First Baptist Church is ready to respond to those in need of prayer.

Sunday School Leader Steve Walker

Sunday School is the primary means through which discipleship takes place at First Baptist Church BOF. Each class gives the opportunity for a group of people to gather together around the Word of God. This takes place in an atmosphere that breeds discussion and personal application. These classes meet each Sunday at 11:00 AM.

Worship

Each week we gather together in worship on Sunday at 11:00 AM. Our desire is to worship God together as a church through singing, praying, and hearing God’s Word preached.

Prayer Meeting leader steve Boyer

Prayer is a foundational element of First Baptist. We gather to pray together each week on Wednesday at 5:00 PM.

Kids

At FBC we are committed to Family Discipleship. We believe it is our duty as the church to come along side each parent/guardian as they lead their families towards the truth of scripture(Deut. 11:18-21). Our Kingdom Kids ministry is centered on consistent age appropriate study of the Bible for the purpose of teaching how to WORSHIP God, love his WORD, and live a life engaged in His WORK.

Each member involved in the service of this ministry has passed a MINISTRY SAFE background check. Our ministry to children is done within the context of seeing the whole family grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Students

At FBC we are committed to Family Discipleship. In our Kingdom Students we build on the foundation laid in our Kingdom Kids ministry. Within the context of the family we seek to model what it means to WORSHIP, love Gods WORD, and engage in Gods WORK. To grow in this ministry is to be prepared to live for Jesus after high school graduation and to lead others in their walk with Jesus.

We achieve this by verse by verse study of Gods Word on Sunday Mornings and topical study and worship on Wednesday nights. We are seeking to grow in our knowledge of the truths of God as well as put them into practice in our every day lives. Our annual camp, retreats, and mission trips are all aimed at growing individual faith as well as the family. Parent involvement in this ministry is highly encouraged!

Men

Our desire for our men’s ministry at First Baptist is to build a community of Kingdom-focused men. We believe that building community works best while we are living on mission. The hope for our men’s ministry is to mobilize the men of our church to embrace the mission of God, with a deep held obedience to the Bible and belief in the power of the gospel. To accomplish this we strive to have quarterly meetings to celebrate the stories of God’s work through our Timothy Team (discipleship-mentoring), Hearts & Hammers Team (handyman) and Serving Our City Team (community service).

Women

The goal of our Women’s Ministry is to encourage and equip women of all ages to be growing disciple-makers who make disciples who make disciples. Our areas of focus are discipleship, evangelism, mentoring and missions.

Through Bible study, we disciple and encourage women in their walk with Christ and in their personal evangelism with those with whom they come in contact. Bible studies are typically offered in the Fall, Winter/Spring, and Summer. We are blessed to have many women who are willing and able to facilitate these studies!

Seniors

First Baptist is proud to offer fellowship and learning opportunities for our Senior Adults. In addition to Bible study classes and worship, the Senior Adult ministry works to encourage our community of seniors.

A coordinating council leads the Senior Adult ministry, all of whom are active participants in the group. The senior council has monthly meetings which allow for evaluation of past meetings as well as planning for future meetings.

Luncheon meetings, called Forever Young, are held monthly during the school year (except for January) on the second Monday of the month. In addition to a delicious meal and wonderful fellowship, meetings include a short program of interest. Our Senior Adult group is an active group who often travel for day and overnight trips.
